Journey into Unschooling

March 26th, 2009 by becki

A lovely day today. We went to visit Sal and Evie, who turned 2 on Monday. It was great to have a chat and catch up with a likeminded mum who also knew me back in my wild days! We lived together for a couple of years in Coventry and went through a lot together. The only downside was Holly pulling out a clump of Evie’s hair whilst left briefly unattended (I’d popped up to loo and the doorbell rang so Sal went to answer it) – oops! The kids loved playing with all Evie’s new toys and eating all Sal’s food ;-)

Holly fell asleep in the car so we left her under Daddy’s watchful gaze and Alfie and I went to the library to get lots of new books to read.

This afternoon we’ve been cleaning the kitchen (note Alfie actually eating most of the dried fruit whilst cleaning the jar…..)

We also did lots of playing with the blackboard and easel. Alfie was asking me to write his name, and playing a game where I write letters on the blackboard then he finds the matching magnetic letters. We spent a long time thinking of words starting with each letter. He loves that sort of game at the moment (what else is red Mommy can last all day lol!)
