Today has been a day of washing! I’ve done about 8 loads since coming back! The lovely hot sun has dried lots of it today.
We walked through Sutton Park today, stopping to play on the Town Gate playground, to meet Bex and Nathan for lunch in the Bottle of Sack. It was a nice break from unpacking and washing!
In other news, Alfie’s seeds have done very well. Well, the carrots and purple carrots seem to have failed so far, but the coriander, pumpkins, red onions and tomatoes are doing really well. The strawberry plants my dad put in are doing well too. They were originally from my Granddad’s garden, he planted some in my parents’ garden, then Dad gave some to us
Alfie’s raspberry bush is also starting to grow, as are some of his bulbs.
Big thanks to my Dad by the way. He fed Jasmine and watered all the plants every day we were away and despite working very long hours he also treated our lawn with feed, weed and mosskiller, and got us a new gas strut for the car boot as the old one failed whilst we were away. We are so lucky to have my fab parents nearby and really appreciate all their help – financial, practical, emotional and childcare
Another note, a bit of role reversal has happened. After 17 months of Rich settling Alfie and me settling Holly, we swapped whilst on holiday and have continued that. Part of it is to try and break Holly’s constant feeding, and just for a change for everyone. I feel I have the easier role as Alfie now settles pretty well whereas Holly does not! He was like this at 17m and has only started settling well in the past few months so there’s still hope
Anyway, my dad left me his camera to use on holiday so I’m waiting for Rich to come down from settling H and show me how to get the photos off, then I can put them up on here and Facebook. Watch this space!
