An excellent day at Conkers with the children and Nanny and Grandad despite the madding crowds. I could launch into another rant about hating school holidays but fortunately I’m too tired
It would have been far nicer if it wasn’t so packed but we still had an excellent day and the children had a great time, which is the main thing.
We went into the indoor bit first so got to go up to the treetops in the enchanted forest and through the bats and off pressing all the buttons in the discovery centre whilst it was still relatively quiet. We had a nice walk around the lake, a picnic in the sun and a play in the artscape section and on all the giant musical instruments. The queue for the train was long so we only got it one way to waterside and walked back. The children had a little play on the teeming park (nope, nope – I’ll resist any rants about crowds and out of control older kids….;-p ). Other than one Alfie tantrum which was so spectacular it attracted a crowd – (couldn’t you just smash their smug nosey faces in – oops, sorry, don’t know where Alfie gets his temper from ;-p ) – everyone had a great day. I must wear my sunhat from now on though – my parting is burnt bright red. I forgot that whilst putting my factor 50 on!
No pix unless I can get copies of the ones Grandad took. Here’s Alfie decorating a gingerbread man with icing this morning though!
