This morning we popped into Kingstanding to get both children some new shoes from Blunts. Holly is very impressed with her shiny black patent ones with flashing lights
Afterwards we headed to Mary Stevens Park in Stourbridge for the home educators’ pre-school meet-up that Izzi had organised. It was great to meet Kirsty and Izzi and their lovely kids. The children all had a great time playing on the park, having a picnic and splashing in the water play fountains. Alfie particularly enjoyed splashing and screaming with Henry, Kirsty’s 5 year old, and seemed to have developed a little fan in the gorgeous Toby who followed him round calling him
. It’s great to meet up with likeminded parents, especially now so many of Alfie’s peers are disappearing off to nursery. Our kids have such a great life, far far better than any they would ever have in school, and they learn so much every day too. It’s important to keep up the social side too though. They get so much from mixing with other children of varied ages, not just those born within a few months of them!
Back home, we unpacked the online shopping delivery. Alfie made an apple and raspbery strudel then did a bit more to his woven trivet project. I cleaned the bathroom and finally got round to putting the 5 loads of clean washing away whilst Rich and the kids read books. Holly hasn’t been herself today – really grumpy with her teeth and tired. The joys of teething!
Here’s a couple of pictures of H from the safari park. Alfie managed to escape the camera lol! There’s one more on my phone memory card but it’s playing up so will have to wait.
