This morning we decided to go swimming. It didn’t start well, with Alfie having his (sadly very usual at the moment) early morning mega tantrum and nearly getting left behind. Before all my fellow UP fans gasp in horror, this wasn’t a punishment, more a practicality. A purple, screaming, wild child does not marry well with a swimming pool for safety and other reasons! However, he managed to calm down and both children were having a good time – until I smelt something awful. Sure enough, H had done a pooh in the pool! She had a washable swim nappy on but, as you’d expect, once lots of water gets in there you just get very dilute pooh running out the legs…… I rushed her to the toilets, leaving a trail of watery s**t behind. When I took her costume down it went everywhere! All over the toilet, the floor, my bare feet….. It was truly horrendous lol! I cleaned up as best I could, got Rich out of the pool to watch her and went to tell the receptionist to get the toilet and poolside mopped lol! Bless her, she was lovely about it and said most people wouldn’t even tell her so she was very grateful to me lol! I also bought H a disposable swim nappy so she could go back in. At least the actual pool was OK and didn’t have to be evacuated. The face on the lifeguard who had to mop it up though
lol! Anyway, the children had a ball and Alfie decided he was having a “swimming lesson” (his words) and swam the whole length of the pool in his armbands and ring
After discovering the remaining money in Rich’s curry fund (and in the sure knowledge of it being replaced on Friday lol!) we decided a Chinese buffet was needed
Modern China is fab – very tasty and didn’t charge for either of the kids. H now sits on a normal chair both in restaurants and at home – so grown-up!
Back home, we’ve done copious amounts of washing, laundry sorting and cleaning. For Christmas I paid for the children to be members of the RSPB. They love bird group and wildlife. They spent ages today putting the stickers on their folders, doing all the activities in their magazines and logbooks that came in the pack, and playing games on the RSPB website. We also watched a DVD, made bread, did jigsaws, made bum wipes and various other activities. We don’t get bored around here lol!
