Journey into Unschooling

Yet More Vomit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

February 10th, 2010 by becki

There I was thinking that we’d all escaped catching Holly’s sicky bug, then as he drank his bedtime milk last night Alfie complained of a sore tummy. When I heard him crying at 10pm I knew that he had the bug, as he calls not cries if he wnats us at night now. Sure enough, he threw up :( I would never have gone to home ed meet-up yesterday if I’d have thought he could be infectious :(

Anyhow, today he seems fine again, but we obviously couldn’t go to bird group and risk spreading it. I popped down to Boldmere with Holly to get him some digestive biscuits (and picked up 4 videos for £1 from the charity shop for him to watch on our video upstairs). The rest of the day was spent playing and spring cleaning. I finished cleaning the kitchen, then all 3 of us emptied out the under stairs cupboard, which was a grim experience lol! We cleaned all the mould off the wall, swept and mopped the floor, sorted everything out of there – some into charity bags, loads of plastic carrier bags to take to the recycling point tomorrow – and put the remainder back very neatly. Long may it last, it looks much better! Also disinfecting the bathroom after the bath being full of vomity PJs and sheets last night, sorting laundry, sorting through various storage places to eliminate junk for recycling and charity.

Holly found an interesting way of using her Peppa Pig stickers – see pictures lol! We played hospitals, did jigsaws, magic painting, reading books, Peppa Pig game and lots more. The children were playing some strange game involving transporting H’s “doddars” (dummies) to various machines and planets – don’t ask. A normal, mad day really! Our curry was cancelled due to illness for the second time tonight though *sigh* Third time lucky???
